Training Information
In order to file documents electronically and to receive e-mail notices of documents that are filed, attorneys must be registered to file electronically, and be trained and certified by the court. At the training session, attorneys will be provided with an identification name and password that will allow access to the training system.
Step 1:
If you are not already certified in a bankruptcy court in another district you need to complete the following bankruptcy classroom training program. Check the table below to select an available training date, complete and submit the Attorney Class Registration Form. The online attorney tutorial cannot be used to meet the training requirement.

All classes are conducted in the Clerk's Training Room, located in the Hale Boggs Federal Building, 500 Poydras Street, Suite B-601, New Orleans, LA 70130 (6th Floor)

Attorney Class Information
This class is an instructor-led course designed for attorneys in bankruptcy proceedings. This course provides attorneys hands-on experience using CM/ECF. Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
- Open bankruptcy cases
- Upload and file mailing matrixes
- Open an adversary proceeding
- Prepare and submit summonses
- File a variety of pleadings, including: Statements of Social Security Number, Chapter 13 Plan, Answers to complaints, Motions, Notices of Hearing, Certificates of Service, Objections to motions/applications, Proofs of claims, Objections to Confirmation of Plan
- Submit Orders
The court will process your request and send an E-mail confirming your training date and time. You are not considered confirmed for a training class until you have received notification from the court.
Step 2:
Complete the Application for Attorney Password for Electronic Case Filing System, and return to the court to receive your live login and password to the Electronic Filing System.
